Just Some Ramblings

I’ve been told I love to ramble on, so why not pass along some of my ramblings from this past month.

Hoping all of you are doing well and staying safe. Maybe we are starting to see an end to it all and slowly get back to a new normal in our lives. I sure do miss hugs and seeing my peeps!!

Blueberry Picking

It’s blueberry season in Central Florida and I was able to go to my favorite u-pick farm. They were certainly practicing social distancing and cleaning each bucket as we brought them back in. There wasn’t that many people there, but we all stayed away from each other and there was no one on my row.

Freezing Blueberries

Freezing blueberries is very easy to do in 3 simple steps.

  1. Wash thoroughly and let completely dry on a cloth-lined sheet pan. I usually let them dry overnight.
  2. Remove the cloth and make sure the berries are in a single layer on the sheet pan. Place in the freezer overnight.
  3. Place in freezer containers and that’s it!

I enjoy blueberries all year in my smoothies and since they are already frozen, I don’t have to add ice to the mixer.

April is the time when we start seeing the signs of spring. That burst of bright yellow of daffodils emerged from the ground. You can also grow daffodils in a pot indoors as @katja.maino is showing in this lovely Instagram picture.
