Just Some Ramblings

I’ve been told I love to ramble on, so why not pass along some of my ramblings from this past month.

The second month of the new year is almost over, life seems to be getting back to normal and even though I live where it doesn’t snow, I love looking at winter decor. I love adding that bit of flocked items in my home. This mantel by MaLea of @lifeonbrushycreek on Instagram shows how to add that bit of snowy winter to your decor. I love the evergreen tree in the bucket and the snowy picture.

Do you decorate with winter items in your home?

Picking Strawberries

It’s strawberry season in Central Florida right now and it doesn’t take long to fill up a bucket with these huge berries. I have been going to a u-pick farm for a couple of years now and I haven’t been disappointed yet. The rows are so clean, the weather was sunny and the most perfect temperature. What a great way to spend a Saturday morning.

Blueberry season is in a few weeks and I can’t wait. I’m on my last bag in the freezer.

When strawberries are in season, try this quick strawberry bread recipe with a melt in your mouth glaze for the top.
A light dessert for any occasion made with the fresh strawberries. And easy to make too.

Winter Inspiration

Many people will walk in and out of your life, but only true friends will leave footprints in your heart – Eleanor Roosevelt

I don’t really decorate for the winter, but I decorate for the winter seasons. I just put away my Valentine’s Day decor.

  2. We have purchased several pints of strawberries recently that were especially big and delicious. So good dipped in a little marshmallow fluff and cream cheese.
    Beautiful winter mantel piece.
That Eleanor Roosevelt was a smart cookie.

  3. We have been on a huge strawberry kick in this house lately. I can’t seem to keep enough in the fridge!

  4. Wow! I am so excited with blueberry season, too! My son loves them. That mantel looks very stunning!

  5. My kids love strawberry! It’s getting hot in CA and I am thinking to grow my own strawberry this summer.
