Simple thrift store glassware and turning it into something you love is such fun! See how easy it is to recycle glassware into something new for you.

Whenever I go thrifting, the items I see the most are glassware. They are everywhere and the prices are so cheap because there is so much. Goodwill is one of my favorite places to find the best pieces at the best prices.

You will discover some inspiring ways to put new life into those forgotten glass pieces you find in your home or out thrifting. It’s a great way to reduce waste, give new purpose to discarded items and save a few dollars while you’re at it. And let’s not forget that these will add a bit of historical beauty to our homes.

I absolutely squealed with joy when I saw this window art with glass plates because I knew I had an old window sitting in the corner of the garage and that I wanted to do this project. I already have some old glass pieces from my family to start with. Now it’s time to go thrifting to fill in the holes. I plan to hang it over my garden table in the lanai and watch the sun make it sparkle in the morning.

I’ve been wanting to make a glass jar terrarium but haven’t found the right jar yet and couldn’t really see it in my mind. But I love how this turned out. What a great project to make with the kids in smaller jars.

Let’s just take a long look at this glass bird bath for a bit! I mean, isn’t it the most perfect bird bath using an old glass ashtray? I’ve seen those ashtrays before and they are heavy. And the addition of the glass bird is perfection. Would look so whimsey in any garden.

Wouldn’t these pressed flower lanterns look so cute for an outdoor night wedding or party? So cute and really easy to make. Glass jars like these are every where and in a lot of our homes.

I’ve seen a ton of these plate flower art items all over Pinterest. There are so many plates to be found at really reasonable prices at Goodwill. Another whimsey item for your garden.

I made this glass pumpkin Pottery Barn knockoff several years ago for fall and I still love it to this day. The glass pumpkins can be found at the Dollar Store or should I say the Dolla and a Half Store in today’s world. Really easy to make and if you love the look of mercury glass, you will find this perfect for fall.

I had someone give me several tea cup pots for small plants but I never thought about using them as a teacup succulent planter. I used mine for African Violets and they make such cute little gifts. Drill a hole in the bottom of the teacup and then glue it to the saucer.

This tea cup bird feeder is just adorable and the birds will love you for it. If you have parties out in your garden, this would add so much to your decor.

Another great idea for an old lantern bird feeder by taking a discarded street lantern with no glass and just adding bird feed. I love that the feed is protected by the top of the lantern.

This will be another DIY I will do because I have several old glassware items like this. These homemade candles using glassware are really easy to use and would be so pretty sitting around your home.
