My Faux Fall Mantel
Over the years, I have been drooling over all the beautiful fall mantels on Pinterest. Makes me want a fireplace so badly, but I knew that wasn’t going to happen anytime soon. Funny thing is, I moved from a house that had 5 fireplaces and that was so much fun to decorate at Christmas time especially.
After looking at many different websites and pinning some of my favorites to my Fall Idea Pinterest page, I came upon Cherished Bliss who made a faux fall mantel. Loved it!! I loved the pop of color she put on this display.
So after that inspiration, I knew I could make something for myself.
What would I use? We have a huge tv wall unit that looks a lot like the picture above. I have a few baskets and other items on top of it and I thought that would be the perfect place to display fall items.
I asked hubby what he would like to see up there and he said, “football”. I wouldn’t expect him to say anything else different. I also wanted some orange string lights and I had to order them online. After gathering pumpkins, leaves, sunflowers, and a couple of other items, I’m quite pleased with the way it turned out.
Don’t you love it!!

The orange string lights make the pumpkins and fall leaves glow. I love my old slop buckets!
Football banners and my husband’s high school souvenir football they throw out during games. The baskets are from my grandmother. I love them.
The mantel just glows orange at night.
I love I will be able to keep this up until Christmas and I hope I can find a small glass turkey to add for November. I will need to make a trip or two to the area consignment stores. I can’t wait to figure out what to do for Christmas, springtime, and summer.
Everyone can have a decorated mantel, even though it is faux!

Have a wonderful and blessed day,

I’m just a country girl loving my geeky life with my wonderful husband, always taking pictures, getting my hands dirty in the garden, being crafty, exploring with travels and enjoying all this on a budget. But above all, living my faith as a child of God!

Tammy, It’s absolutely perfect! I love the glow of Fall colors in the evening. It makes everything a warm and cozy feeling. Have you ever thought of picking up an old mantle and just leaning it against a free wall in your home? Just something to keep in the back of your mind, if you ever come across one. I notice the banner has GA and MO on it…..I’m from Georgia and my Dad’s family live in Missouri! 🙂
I had thought about putting up a faux mantle, but haven’t found one that I really care to have. We are both so country and living here in Florida, they are kind of hard to find. My hubby was born and raised in Georgia and the same for me in Missouri. Its a small world. Thanks for stopping by!!
Lovely ideas! Gets me in the mood for autumn. I like the idea of a faux mantle because we do not have a fireplace! Thanks so much! I’ll pin it!
I love it! I am trying to think where I could do a faux mantle now. Our space is pretty small so I will have to really think on this one. Thanks for the inspiration.
