Mixing vintage with new fall items is my jam, and I hope my ideas will help inspire you, too.

Fall has always been my favorite season with cooler air, cozy sweaters, and of course, the little treasures that make the season feel extra special. This year, I’ve stumbled upon a few fall finds that I just have to share. From home décor to kitchen delights, these pieces are adding warmth and charm to my days.
Nothing really fancy, and easy enough for anyone to do. Fall decor seems to tell me cozy and warm. So my decor stays pretty simple with traditional fall colors and vintage finds.

Cozy Textiles
There are so many choices out there for this category, and I chose a couple of vintage quilted pumpkin placemats for the table out on the lanai that I found on eBay. The pumpkin planter is perfect for one of my African Violets to sit in for the season. Fall blankets and quilts to snuggle under are a must.

My favorite texture to add is pillow covers. I’ve talked about this subject so often, and the least expensive way to add seasonal colors. Since I have a rug under the couch that has a lot of blue tones in it, I needed a fall pillow to complement it, and this one does all of that. The brown pillow covers in the back are this one and this one. I also have a sunflower pillow cover on one of the chairs. These are my favorite pillow inserts.
Just a little hint about pillows and inserts. My pillow covers are 18 x 18, and I also get inserts the same size. If you want firmer pillows in your pillow covers, get a size larger pillow insert.

Scents of the Season
I love candles, but I’m getting to where I love wax melts more. My favorite discovery this year was a pumpkin wax warmer that I found to use with my favorite apple cinnamon candle wax melts from Walmart. It instantly fills the house with that warm, cozy fall smell.
The silver pitcher was a $1.00 yard sale find that sits in a small dough bowl, and I just added some fall stems I had on hand. The print in the frame is from Etsy, and there are so many out there to choose from. This is another inexpensive way to have art and just change out the prints for the seasons.

Vintage Seasonal Décor Touches
One of my favorite eBay finds was these accordion pumpkins from the late 60s. If you are from that era, I know you remember these. They are still just as bright as the day they came out all those years ago. These are usually very inexpensive.

Another find is vintage seed packets that I display on my garden bench on the lanai. I have them for all seasons. They were a gift, but can easily be found on eBay. The pumpkin print is one I made for myself and printed out. I do all my printing of these digital pictures through Walmart. They do a great job and are pretty quick to get them to your home.

Kitchen Favorites
Fall always makes me want to spend more time in the kitchen. I love to bake goodies this time of the year. I recently found the vintage squirrel candy dish, and it works perfectly with the mini hen on a basket and the vintage recipe box. Another digital print from Etsy sits next to them, and the frame is a Goodwill find for a $1.00. The pumpkin carving board is something I’ve had for a few years now.

Another great color to add for fall decor is copper. This copper pot is perfect sitting on the kitchen cabinet with my collection of wood carving boards. I’ve seen these often, and they are usually a great price. I love that its age is showing. Like me! 😉

Vintage Memory Finds
There is such a great story behind the little terra cotta Jack O Lantern on my old pharmacy cabinet. When my son was born, my mom had a larger version of that Jack O Lantern that she kept on her kitchen table. When my son was old enough, he would stand there and look at it. My mom told him his name was Boo. And so the tradition went on for years that my son would walk by and say hi to Boo!
Sadly, Boo didn’t make the move to Florida when my parents came down here. I had to find another one, but I wanted a smaller one, and recently found one on eBay. It holds a tea light, and I will light it up on Halloween. The small football is from the town Glenn lived in for several years before we moved to Florida. He got it at one of the high school football games. I love the memories both those items remind me of and the family members who aren’t here to enjoy them with me.
The pumpkin wreath is one of my favs, and another digital print I made for myself and had printed out.

My kitchen table is just full of vintage finds. My great-grandmother’s gold-rimmed china plates, vintage leaf plates, and vintage embroidered leaf napkins. If my great-grandmother’s plates could talk today!!
And of course, the centerpiece is dried hydrangeas, my favorite flower. The hydrangeas sit in a brown McCoy pitcher, tulip bowls, salt and pepper shakers, and a creamer. Except for the hydrangeas, all the others are thrift store finds over the years.
Fall is such a fleeting season, and that’s part of its magic. These little finds help me savor every moment and bring autumn’s charm into my home. I’d love to know what some of your favorite fall finds this year?
