Just Some Ramblings & More!

I’ve been told I love to ramble on, so why not pass along some of my ramblings from this past month to all of you!

Welcome to 2023! Let’s make this year work!!

OH MY!! I know most of the USA just went through a hard cold spell, but I just had to show this. What a beautiful snow scene and on top of that, it’s a PINK barn! I grew up in the country with nothing but farms everywhere and have never seen this color used before. But how gorgeous is this? I found this beautiful picture on Instagram @jackiegreaney She has some really lovely pictures of her adventures on the eastern seaboard to check out.

By the calendar, it’s officially winter, which is my favorite time of the year here in Central Florida. The humidity and temperature are way down and I love being outdoors. This is the time of the year when hubby and I love to take our day trips or as we call them, “Day Dates”.

Flowers are starting to bloom in all the area gardens and oranges and strawberries are ready to be picked. Driving by Florida’s Natural Growers plant and taking in the smell of fresh oranges is intoxicating this time of the year. If you are ever in Central Florida this time of the year and be sure to stop by the Visitor’s Center for Florida’s Natural and take a tour of the orange processing plant.

We’ve taken several trips in Central Florida that I have posted about and if you are planning on coming to this area in the next few months, stop by and read my posts before you hop in the car and you may find somewhere you would like to visit when you aren’t visiting the Home of the Mouse.

what I’m watching & listening to

🎥 I started watching The Crown again on Netflix to refresh my memory and I finished season 5. I hated the ending! It just stopped in mid-stream. So, I am thinking a season 6 is on its way. The characters in 5 were more realistic to that time era but I think Elizabeth Debicki did a wonderful job as Diana. My feelings about Prince Charles were just solidified with more and more coming out about the way he treats his own family. I would love to hear your thoughts?

🎥 Did NOT like the Harry & Meghan series. I could only watch a bit of that series before I couldn’t listen anymore. Too much self-pity & self-importance for me to stomach and just plain BORING! 🥱 BUT, I understand that Prince Harry’s book called Spare just solidifies my thoughts about his father.

🎥 We watched Don’t Pick Up the Phone on Netflix which is so bizarre but true.

🎥 I noticed that Where the Crawdads Sing is now on Netflix. I had to watch it again over the holidays. What a great book too!

🎥 If you are a fan of Sweet Magnolias, then get ready for this news. Season 3 is in the works and filming as I write this post. But no release day has been scheduled on Netflix. I love this series and Season 2 ended on a big cliffhanger. If you haven’t watched this series before, it’s a sweet account of 3 gals who have grown up together and how they help each other out with all the troubles they encounter in their lives.

🎥 While looking for something to stream the other day I found Martha’s Gardens with Martha Stewart. I love her gardens! She always has great advice about growing anything. If you have a Roku device, you can find all her shows on the Roku Channel now to enjoy.

🎧 I’ve gotten very interested in crime podcasts and really enjoyed Murder & Magnolias. Loved it and Keith Morrison has to be my favorite crime guy. I also listened to Bone Valley which is a great story about how the accused had to prove his innocence. While I was listening to that podcast, an advertisement played for Hell and Gone. It’s next on my list. Are you keeping up with the Moscow Murders? I can’t wait for this documentary to come out. Oh and I listen to most of my podcasts on iHeart radio. Where do you listen to your podcasts at?

I would love to hear your suggestions for crime podcasts to add to my list.

Lisa Marie Presley’s death was hard to hear. Growing up near Graceland and with Elvis, the news just broke my heart. Sad stories and troubled lives.

  1. We’ve even got the cold snap here in Southern Arizona. It’s been in the 20’s at night which is way to cold for this Native.

  2. Oh wow, that is a gorgeous snow scene. It rarely snows in Texas so I always like seeing it.

And I agree, Prince Charles is gross. Or King Charles now. Blech.

  3. I read and watched ‘Where the Crawdads Sing’, and I enjoyed both.
I love that pink barn! How cute, and a nice change from traditional colors.

  4. I loved Where the Crawdads Sing. Such a great movie. You have some gorgeous photos here as well. Very nice.

  5. I’ve heard others say the same about the Harry & Meghan series. I’m not planning on watching it.

  6. Your opening picture is just beautiful. I recently watch “Where the Crawdads Sing” and it was such a good movie. I’m interested in the book now.
