Fall means it’s time to bake something with pecans in it. Fall’s favorite nut. Perfect recipes for all season long.
Since I was a little girl, it was always a treat when fall came around and the family would get together to go pick pecans that had fallen from the tree. This is a southern tradition and pecans make fall come alive with all the recipes you can make with them.
My dad would sit for hours cracking and picking out the pecans to put in bags for the freezer. I learned very early in life that you make your freezer stash of pecans last the whole year. I do have a few bags in the freezer now that came from my mom’s. Mr. G and I may have to make a special trip to Georgia to buy a bunch next year since Florida doesn’t have pecan farms in our area.
I do have a secret, though. I’m not a big fan of Pecan Pie. GASP!! I’m not really sure why, but I love recipes with pecans in them. Just not Pecan Pie.
And the question for the day is:
How do you say pecan? Pa-kawn or Pe-can

Such lovely recipes. I fell in love with pecans when I visited South Carolina a few years ago. I tried so many dishes and desserts with pecans and my favorites were the cocktails. I love all the recipes you’ve provided and I look forward to making just a classic pecan pie. Yum!!
