See how easy it is to turn vintage items into statement pieces for your patio to enjoy all spring and summer long.

If you’ve known me for a short minute, you know nothing makes me smile quite like vintage decorations and ideas. It’s just so much fun to look for beautiful vintage items to use inside my home and outdoors.

I love spring and summer when I get to plant lots of pretty flowers and spruce up my outdoor patio space. And now that my enclosed lanai finally has furniture after 20 years, I love decorating it with seasonal vintage items. But, there are several things I leave out all year long.

I recently ran across a lovely website where the blogger uses a lot of vintage items to decorate with. Vibeke Design grabbed my heart the first time I saw her website with all of her vintage potting benches and outdoor spaces.

Are you ready my friends? Grab your favorite beverage, sit back, and relax as you let your fingers scroll through these lovely vintage-inspired patio ideas.

Vintage Watering Cans & Glass Bottles

Don’t you love how this porch is styled? An old glass door cabinet on the wall filled with glass jars and a long wooden table below it. The simple old piece of wood on the wall with a few hooks would be so easy to make.

I absolutely love my large watering can that sits on the front porch. It has a hole in the bottom and I’m sure that’s why I was able to snatch for a deal. I would love to have another smaller one with a flower in it to sit next to the larger one. I also have a few old glass bottles Mr. G collected a few years ago sitting next to the electric fireplace, but I love the really large one in the picture above. The cabinet full of old glass bottles makes a lovely statement too and they are so easy to find.

Vintage crates & drawers

What a great idea to display your herbs or plants in small drawers on a simple wooden table. Crates, as shown in the picture above, are another easy find and just add a few bottles. Done! A statement has been made.

Have some old wood? Make some small boxes and add a vintage porcelain pull on it and you have a vintage box!

here’s your sign

How cute is this! An old table with a cubby makes a perfect garden bench or just a display piece. You can find vintage signs now and again, but the sign above is a simple DIY project using a piece of wood, white-washed and stenciled with letters. Mess it up a bit with some sandpaper. Done!

Terra cotta pots & olive buckets

Small terra cotta pots make the best display. If you don’t have any, they are really inexpensive to find basically anywhere. I love the look of this styling and olive buckets make really good pots. Line it with plastic with a hole in the bottom and fill it with dirt and plants. They also make great storage items.

wire baskets

If you noticed in most of the pictures wire baskets are used for storage. They really add that vintage touch. Old locker room wire baskets are the best.

Don’t forget to Add some color

I know this isn’t on a porch but it could be. The old cans with porcelain pitchers and bowls really add a splash of color. A lot of vintage finds for outdoors are rather bland metal color. But the porcelain items are usually white and red. And that touch of pink just tugs at my heart. I could see this vignette being used to display items for a party.
