DIY Fall Placemat Pillow

Simple and easy DIY no-sew fall pillow made with a placemat for your fall decor. It won’t take long either.
I’m so excited to tell you guys about this DIY project. It’s so easy, very inexpensive to make, no-sew and so cute!
I was strolling around Big Lots one day and noticed the cute pumpkin placemats in a nice neutral color. At first, I didn’t think much about them, but then it dawned on me. Why not make that a pillow? I love ideas that pop into my old brain like that.
items needed
- Placemat from Big Lots
- Pillowcase is a bit larger than the placemat
- Heat n Bond Iron On Adhesive Tape
- Iron
- Scissors
I already had an off-white linen 18 x 18 pillowcase that would be perfect for this project. I knew I didn’t want to sew around the edge of the placemat because it would be too much trouble, so I would use iron-on adhesive tape.
Iron the placemat so that it lays flat. Then cut strips of adhesive tape to go around the edge of the placement. Next, iron the strips according to the directions.
Next, after the strips have cooled, pull off the backing.
Lay the placemat on the pillow and then iron around the edges. You may have to push down for a few seconds for the strips to grab hold. I did put a towel on the table under the pillowcase to help cushion the pillowcase.
That’s it! Quick and easy.
