I love any kind of bread and crusts. I guess basically I love flour, but I also know that’s a big no-no while keeping my carbs down.

But now, there are options and after testing several of them, I have found what really tastes good.

Loaf Bread

I love sandwiches for a quick meal. Especially when the weather gets hot and I don’t want to heat up the kitchen. Sandwiches were my go-to meal to take for lunch many times.

But after I started my low-carb lifestyle journey, I knew a sandwich was out of reach because you just couldn’t find good low-carb bread anywhere in the area stores.

I did some research. A lot of research and came up with two different companies to try out when it came to bread.

Sola bread is by far my favorite for sandwiches and toast. They have so many different flavors to try. Here are the ones I have tried.

  • Honey Sweet Style Bread
  • Sweet and Buttery
  • Blueberry (my fav for breakfast)
  • Sweet Oat Bread

For breakfast, I love to toast a slice and add butter or almond butter. Serve with berries or hard-boiled eggs. I have also topped the toast with a fried egg and avocado slices.

They also make wonderful sandwiches with deli meats, pimento cheese, and chicken salad. I like to top it with lettuce and/or seed sprouts. I will add a protein drink with that sandwich for a great meal.

Seed sprouts are so yummy and I just recently started growing my own. So easy to make using a Sprouter and seeds. Just add the seeds to the jars and follow the directions to keep them moist. In about 3 days, you have really healthy seed sprouts to add to so many foods.

Bagels

Another bread item that I have used for any meal is the Sola bagels. These are just so good! One bagel has 5 net carbs and is a filling meal. Here are some flavors:

  • Plain
  • Pizza (I adore this flavor)
  • Blueberry
  • Sweet and Buttery (love it just toasted with butter or almond butter)

There are so many toppings you could use with these bagels. I prefer these toasted with either cream cheese, butter, or almond butter.

The pizza bagels are one of my favs to make a quick pizza out of. I cut it in half, add pizza sauce, pepperoni, onions, black olives, and top with cheese. Broil for a few minutes until the cheese melts and you have a great meal.

Here is another yummy bagel meal idea:

  • Cut a Sola Sweet & Buttery Bagel in half.
  • Take a biscuit cutter and cut a hole in the middle of each one. Keep the cutout part.
  • Spray the pan at medium heat with olive oil and place the cut side down in the pan. You could use butter if you like. Place the 2 holes in the pan also.
  • Break one egg in each bagel hole and season with what your heart wants.
  • Flip when the egg looks like it is cooking and not really runny. Also, turn the holes.
  • Let cook until the egg is done to your desire.

You could serve it with berries or bacon. Yummy!

Bread & Bagel mixes

If you are willing to bake your own breads and bagels, then Keto Bakes products are for you.

I have mentioned this company often and have written several blog posts about products I have tried.

I have made their bagels which were pretty easy to do and you could make these with your own special seasonings. Click here to read how to make these bagels and I had also made a really nice Pumpkin Spice butter to top them with. That butter could be made with so many different flavors to use.

I also made their Cinnamon Swirl Bread which was super easy to make. And I say that because baking bread was not something that I did hardly ever. I love taking a slice of this and topping it with butter, cinnamon, and low-carb sugar (I love Swerve) and broil till bubbly. It is really good cinnamon toast. There is also a Pumpkin Loaf that is really good also.

Keto Bakes also offers several different types of bread, buns, and bagel mixes to try.

let’s not forget buns and pizza crust

I’ve mentioned before how much I was missing pizza and learned how to use the pizza bagels to fill that void. I also use the Keto Bakes pizza crust which is really good and easy to mix up. I also love cauliflower pizza crusts when I’m not in the mood to use the mix.

But what about burgers? Another one of my favorite things to eat.

My journey of learning, loving, and living with a low-carb lifestyle and how it has affected my life medically and physically.

Until I found the Sola burger buns, I just ate the burger with no bread. That was fine, but I still missed the buns. Sola burger buns are a great replacement. I like to spritz just a bit of olive oil on the inside of the bun and then toast it on the grill. The picture above looks like a carb-filled burger, but it’s not!
