Just Some Ramblings

Fall is just beautiful in some parts of the US. I miss the beautiful fall colors the leaves turn to and the crisp air at night, but I don’t miss raking leaves. What a job it was every year back home in Missouri.

Recently my mom and I headed back to Missouri to visit with family and friends and to attend a family wedding. It had been 10 years since I was back home and it was good to be back at my old stomping grounds. Sometimes, its just good to be home and Missouri will always be my home in my heart.

The changing leaves remind me of when Mr. G took me to the Great Smoky Mountains. I had never been there before and he insisted that we go in the fall. He was right. I had forgotten about how beautiful all the colors can be. We stayed in a really nice 2 bedroom condo located in Pigeon Forge I found using HomeTalk looking out over the forest. I can’t wait until we can go back again.

Speaking of fall. I love how someone has taken an old LP tank, turned it upside down and made it look like a Jack O Lantern. A new project for Mr. G!

And with fall comes an abundance of apples in the area. One of my favorite gadgets in my kitchen is the Apple Slicer Corer. It slices and cores the apple so easily. The one I had for so many years, had an accident. Its handle fell off. I cried, for just a moment, and then realized I needed to find another one. Quickly!!

Mr. G and I eat an apple a day (wink) and this new apple slicer corer really works well. Much, much better than the old one. The reason I like it so much is the plastic bottom that holds the apple still. Before the apple would slide around, pop out from under the slicer, end up on the floor and the dog would run away with the apple. But life is good now. It is the simple things that make me smile.

I’ve gotten a few emails and questions about what the affiliate links are all about and why they see disclosures on some of my posts. I wanted to take a few minutes and discuss it with you now.

FCC rules require that when I post a link to items that I recommend to you and that I may make a small commission on from sales, I must disclose this to my readers. I also must have a disclosure on my website at all times.

I may earn a small commission for my endorsement, recommendation, testimonial which link to products featured on this site. At no additional cost to you, your purchase helps support my work and keeps this site running.

Running a blog costs money and I can’t do this for free. I love blogging and I do enjoy it being a business for me and my family. I want to give to my readers, the most secure website I can, and I have to pay for those services. Along with hosts, plugins, themes, web developers, etc.

I will only recommend a product that I have used and loved. I will also tell you if the product wasn’t up to my expectations or not recommend it at all.

I am humbled and blessed by all my readers who have supported my blog for the past 10 years and I hope you stick around for what the future brings.
