Just Some Ramblings

I’ve been told I love to ramble on, so why not pass along some of my ramblings from this past month.

Lake Sunset

I want to thank everyone for the thoughtful prayers for my mom as she went through her surgery this month for lung cancer. Being 80 years old, she is recovering very slowly and is now regaining her strength at a rehab facility. We are now debating whether she should have the same surgery in her other lung but she will be going through chemo since one lymph node did show cancer. We both are learning so much about cancer and that this will be a long process for her. Keeping strong!!

Daytona Beach

I hope everyone had a great 4th of July holiday. We decided to go to Daytona Beach Shores since its only about 1 1/2 hours away from our home. What a lovely day it was. The beach was a bit busy but still really nice and everyone was enjoying the day. Since that area doesn’t offer beach chairs and umbrellas we like to use a pop-up canopy which really works well and offers a lot of shade from the sun. Our favorite beach chairs are easy to carry and they lay back with side pouches and pillow. Having good beach items will make for a great vacation or visit. I also learned how to Boogie Board and for a newbie, did it quite well. I even got thumbs up from some of the young folk!!

What did you do for the 4th?

Cord Organizer

Do you have a box full of electronic cords like I do? I could never find the cord I needed and it was time to organize them. I found some velcro Reusable Cable Ties that are much like zip ties, but with the advantage of using them over and over.

They are so easy to use and store. Perfect for school, office, garage, classroom and behind the tv where all those dreaded cords are hanging. They really work nicely for so many items which need to be tied up.

Have you ever printed out your own stationery before? If you love to send cards or notes as I do, this is a perfect solution to just print it out. Especially when cards are pushing $5.00 a card now. I love pairing printed out stationary with A4 size bright envelopes

  1. I am so glad your mother is doing better!

I also love to be at the beach. It’s so relaxing. I’ll have to get some cable ties. We do have tons of cords.

  2. so glad your mom is doing better- always scary when they have to go through a surgery but glad she has you to help when needed.

  3. I love that idea about the cords. I’m constantly fighting with them and this would be perfect. I know I have those things lying around.

  4. So happy to hear that your mom is doing better. Times like that can be super scary so we’ll keep sending those positive thoughts your way.

  5. Our mommas are so precious! I was happy to hear the good news about your momma. I use my photos of my flowers to make greeting cards. You are right, $5 a card is too much.

  6. You had me at drawer full of cords LOL I used to have a drawer full of miscellaneous cords too. Loved reading your ramblings, I also love to ramble.

  7. I’m glad your mom pulled through the surgery and is getting stronger. My mom is also in her eighties so I know what you mean by a slow recovery. It takes them longer to bounce back. I’ll be sure to say a prayer for your mom. And yes, I make my own cards (usually photo cards). It is so much more personal and ugh, they are just so darn expensive, too!

  8. I’ll be praying for your mom’s fast recovery. I love stationery, will try printing out.

  9. I hope your mom has a good recovery! Those velcro cord wraps are a great idea, I usually use rubber bands, but those look more convenient. I’m glad you had a nice 4th of July!
