Just Some Ramblings

I’ve been told I love to ramble on, so why not pass along some of my ramblings from this past month.

April is the time when we start seeing the signs of spring. That burst of bright yellow of daffodils emerging from the ground. You can also grow daffodils in a pot indoors as @katja.maino is showing in this lovely Instagram picture.

Blueberry Picking

It’s blueberry season in Central Florida and I was able to go to my favorite u-pick farm. They were certainly practicing social distancing and cleaning each bucket as we brought them back in. It’s always so much fun picking blueberries in wonderful weather. I love hearing the children as they pick berries to fill their little buckets.

Freezing Blueberries

Freezing blueberries is very easy to do in 3 simple steps.

  1. Wash thoroughly and let completely dry on a cloth-lined sheet pan. I usually let them dry overnight.
  2. Remove the cloth and make sure the berries are in a single layer on the sheet pan. Place in the freezer overnight.
  3. Place in freezer containers and that’s it!

What I’m Watching

🎥 If you love thriller-type shows, watch Pieces of Her on Netflix. All I will say is that the 1st episode is INTENSE! Toni Collette is such a great actress and should get more credit for her work.

🎥 Did anyone watch The Thing About Pam? It was a murder series shown on NBC for several weeks that is just too twisted to understand sometimes. I watched the original story on Dateline a while back and just couldn’t believe the story. There are also podcasts to listen to and a couple of weeks ago, Dateline spoke to the real people involved.

🎥 Finally!! Top Gun 2 Maverick is coming in May. It was supposed to come out in May of 2020 but C***D caused it to be shelved until folks could go back to the theaters and this movie needs to be seen in a theater with quality sound. I can’t tell you how many times I have watched Top Gun from 1986 and I will probably watch it again before I watch #2. There is just something about a man in uniform that I love about these military films. 😊

🎥 And for more exciting news, Where the Crawdads Sing is coming out in July and is produced by Reese Witherspoon. Yea!! The book was just wonderful, everyone talked about it for months before I finally read it and I was hoping a movie would soon be made. I hope it doesn’t disappoint. The last really good book I read that was made into a wonderful movie was The Help.
