Just Some Ramblings

Welcome to Just Some Ramblings for March of 2018 and Happy Easter to everyone!

The weather here in Central Florida has been the strangest I have ever seen since I’ve lived here. Really abnormally hot in January and then its been really cold since. Several days at 20 degrees, lots of hard freezes, more fog than I can remember and several killing frosts. Because of the extreme cold, we had our last queen palm taken down the other day. Queen palms are great in Florida, but they are messy. All the time. So, I was actually glad to see it gone. They are like Magnolia trees which need to be planted far from any home. Just for viewing.

Even after all the cold, my azaleas produced blooms like I have never seen before either! I have petite azaleas all around my home and if you live in Zone 5 to 9 you can grow the Fashion and Red Ruffles varieties in your yard too. Fashion is a salmon color and Red Ruffle is bright red flowers. I always hate to see the flowers fade away because that tells me the heat will soon be here.

I recently found a new lipstick which I am seriously crushing on called Color The World. (no affiliate link) Hand poured, really creamy, doesn’t feather, all natural, vegan, cruelty-free and the best part is each color has their own charity which part of the sales go to. You can see the color I choose, Huntress, 10% of the net profits will be donated to the Forever Home Rescue Foundation. Such a great neutral color and there are over 28 colors to choose from all with their own charity. Sign up for the email to get 10% off your order, but they are also running a Spring Sale right now.
