Wanting to add a little style to your garden or gift idea? Here are a few ideas for garden or plant markers.
A garden can be as whimsical as you want it to be. I love adding something interesting to my garden by planting marigolds to help with the bugs to add some color, but I also love the idea of putting different types of markers with the plants.
It doesn’t matter how big your garden is or if it’s just a pot of herbs. Markers make it easy to remember what you have planted. Especially if you have planted seeds.
Here are some really cute garden markers I found and I hope some may inspire you to make your own. I know the kids would love to help with these.
The very first plant marker that I used and still use are Plant Markers From Mini-Blinds. When Mr. G and I would rehab a home, we always had a bunch of mini blinds and I would use those for markers. Just grab a pair of scissors and cut the size you need. Use a Sharpie to mark the name of the plant and you’ve got the most perfect, easiest, and more economical marker to make.
These Popsicle Stick Markers are such an easy marker to make and who doesn’t have extra popsicle sticks during the summertime to use?
I’ve always wanted to make these Stamped Silverware Markers but haven’t done it yet. You can find old silverware at consignment stores, Goodwill, and yard sales. I would use a Metal Stamping Kit to do letters on the metal.
This is such an adorable idea for a plant marker. DIY Herb Garden & Plant Markers made from empty thread spools. This is such a cute gift idea for anyone who loves plants. How about a new neighbor?
Another super easy idea for Garden Markers DIY made with Wine Corks. Just find some wine corks and a Sharpie and you’ve got a plant maker.
What I love about this crafty idea is you can get paint sticks for free at any of the big box stores to make these DIY Rainbow Garden Markers. Use craft paint you already have and the kids will love to help you with these.
I love this idea for gifts. Beaded Garden Markers would take a bit more time but would surely make someone smile when handed this cute gift. Great for Mother’s Day or teachers.
If the kids love to play with clay, then let them have a great time making these Easy DIY Garden Markers. You could use cookie cutters to shape the clay.
If you have some spare bricks lying around, these make great markers. Brick Herb Markers are really easy to read and would look nice at the end of your planting row.
I know just about every home has chalk paint sitting around somewhere. So why not make some Easy Chalk Garden Markers with them using paint sticks?
Another source that every home has are tin can lids and these Garden Markers from Tin Can Lids are a perfect way to recycle them.
For those who are really handy with cutting wood, these Natural Wood Markers are a perfect solution for plant markers. I’ve seen natural wood sticks sold at craft stores but you would have to shave off part to burn the name on it.
How cute are these! These are really special DIY Beaded Garden Markers that are so perfect for a gift idea. These are just my favorite DIY garden markers.
