Ingredients
1lbpound pork sausagecooked and drained
4cupsall-purpose flour
2 tbspbaking powder
1 1/2tspsalt
1 tspsugar
1cupcold unsalted butter, cubed
1/4cupchopped green onions
2cupswhole buttermilk
2tbspunsalted butter, melted
Instructions
Preheat oven at 425 degrees. Line baking sheet with parchment paper or silicone baking mats
In a large bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, salt, and sugar. Use a pastry blender and cut in the cold butter until mixture is crumbly. Add sausage and green onion and stir until combined. Make a well in the center, add buttermilk and stir until moistened. Spoon dough by heaping 1/4 cupfuls and 1 inch apart on prepared pans.
Bake until lightly brown about 18 minutes. Let cool slightly and brush with melted butter.
Notes
TIPS: You could also add about 1 cup of shredded cheddar cheese to this recipe. It will just make a couple more biscuits. If you aren't able to find green onions, use yellow or sweet onions.
