Just Some Ramblings & More!

I’ve been told I love to ramble on, so why not pass along some of my ramblings from this past month to all of you!

It’s approaching the end of summer, the days are getting longer and cooler (thank goodness) and the kids are back in school. Going outside, sitting on the front porch at night, and listening to whatever nature has to offer makes me smile. This is a beautiful picture by @amyschulerphotography on Instagram. She really captured a summer’s night.

Hurricane Idalia came out of nowhere from nowhere. We live a little above Orlando in the middle of Central Florida which is probably the safest place to live inland. We were ready and woke up on Wednesday to lots of rain and wind. Since we were on the “Dirty Side” of the hurricane, there was a possibility of tornadoes.

We were lucky and dodged another one but so many didn’t in the Bend of Florida. It’s so low there and so much flooding. Please keep those folks in your prayers and thoughts as they head back to their homes soon to see how to start over again.

We have been through Irma, our first hurricane and the worst one 5 years ago. Then came Ian last year, and Idalia this year. I think the “I” storms are not on my good list anymore.

Random Fact. The bullfrog is the only animal that never sleeps. I can’t imagine NEVER sleeping. It’s my fav past time now. The poor bullfrog. 😜

Fall Decor Inspiration

I’m a sucker for anything that looks like mercury glass and speaking of mercury glass. Check out this easy DIY on a Pottery Barn Mercury Glass Pumpkin Knock-Off. I also love faux pumpkins here in Florida. It’s so hot during fall that pumpkins would just melt on the front porch. I also think faux pumpkins save money in the long run. But, I do miss carving real pumpkins. My son really enjoyed doing that when he was younger. This knitted throw blanket looks so comfy for cool fall nights while enjoying a movie.

I’m looking for new bathroom lighting and I’m thinking about this triple sconce. Since I live in a home with all brass door knobs and hinges, I would love to figure out a way to get rid of that shiny out-of-date brass color. I did find a post on how to age brass. Has anyone done this process before?

What I’m watching & listening to

🎥 I have a confession to make. I love trashy television. Any series that will give me a look into people’s lives and thank God every day that my life isn’t as crazy as some of the lives I watch on tv. Southern Charm on Bravo is probably my favorite and there are a couple of characters that annoy the you-know-what out of me, but I’m still hooked. Season 9 will air this fall. I recently watched The Family Stalone on Paramount+ and Dancing Queens on Bravo this past summer and enjoyed both of them. I am a HUGE fan of Sylvester Stalone and he seems just a sweet in real life as he does in his Rocky movies. And I find him extremely handsome too.🥰 The Dancing Queens show is about ballroom dancing, which I’m a huge fan of, and have been watching since I was a teenager. I even took ballroom dancing in college for a blow-off class. All I can say is today’s ballroom dancing is cutthroat!!

🎥 I finished watching the last season of Sweet Magnolias on Netflix. I love this wonderful show of friendship between women. It ended as if that may be the end of the series, but there still isn’t word whether or not a 4th season will be made or not. Keeping my fingers crossed. If you plan a trip through Georgia, you must stop by Covington to see where this series is being filmed. It is one of the most quaint cities I’ve ever been to and what you see in the series, is what the town looks like. It’s an adorable town and worth the stop. Stop by the Chamber of Commerce to see what other shows and movies have been filmed there.

🎥 Are you ready for Virgin River to start back up on September 7th? I can’t wait to hear more about what happened at the very end of last season.

🎵 This music video reminds me what love is all about and I think of a couple dancing. Just beautiful!! And this music video really speaks to my heart and how an artist can make it his own. There is just something special about Johnny Cash.

Does anyone have any really good-tasting suggestions for any sugar-free fall-flavored coffee creamers?
