Just Some Ramblings & More!

I’ve been told I love to ramble on, so why not pass along some of my ramblings from this past month to all of you!

April is the time when we start seeing the signs of spring. That burst of bright yellow daffodils emerging from the ground. We can’t grow them in the deep south but you can force them inside to have your own daffodils show as @katja.maino is showing in this lovely Instagram picture. You can use a simple clear vase to grow them indoors. What a lovely centerpiece this would be for Easter.

I’m in the process of growing paperwhites on my lanai right now. They are taking their ever lovin time sprouting, but they are getting there. They do love the sun while growing. Paperwhites are another great choice for forcing bulbs in the home.

The Amaryllis I grew this winter are just leaves now. I was so impressed by how beautiful they bloomed. I’ve noticed that many of my Florida gardener friends plant amaryllis in the ground and leave them there. The ones in the ground are starting to bloom now. I plan on putting them in a pot to sit out on the patio. I found a 5-gallon bucket that I will use to plant them in. I will drill holes in the bottom to let water out and I plan on doing a DIY to age the bucket a bit. I want the bucket to look like it’s been outside for a long time.

something to chew on

“The Grace of God means something like: Here is your life. You might never have been, but you are because the party wouldn’t have been complete without you. Here is the world. Beautiful and terrible things will happen. Don’t be afraid. I am with you. Nothing can ever separate us. It’s for you I created the universe. I love you. -Frederick Buechner

What I’m watching & listening to

🎥 I’m a sucker for reality tv and when I saw the show Farmer Wants a Wife, I had to give it a go. Have any of you watched this show yet? Being an old farmer girl myself before moving to Florida, the farmland scenery is what pulled me in.

🎥 I started listening to The Girl in the Blue Mustang podcast with Keith Morrison. My favorite crime guy.

🎥 Hear ye! Hear ye! Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story is out on Netflix on May 4th. If you enjoyed the Bridgerton series, I think this will be right up there. The link takes you to the trailer to watch.

🎶 If you love the 70s and 80s playlist, check out Spotify. I’ve listened to channels from Pandora, Amazon, and Sirius. But, Spotify seems to have the best selection.

I would love to hear your suggestions for crime podcasts to add to my list.
