I’ve been told I love to ramble on, so why not pass along some of my ramblings from this past month to all of you!
Welcome to My Life Abundant, a collection of ideas, tips, and inspiration. I love to share everything happening in my abundant life and the inspiration I have found from others around the World Wide Web.
Are you a routine kind of person? Are you needing to be a routine kind of person?
I think because I grew up in a military family, everything was so structured and I haven’t been able to change that much when it comes to routines. Sometimes it’s good, but I also learned that being too structured would give me a bit of anxiety.
If you have reached a stage in your life where you want to start a routine for your day, here are some ways to get started.
- Brainstorm: Think about everything you want to accomplish. What activities do you want to eliminate from your day and what productive activities do you want to add to replace them?
- Make a List: My favorite thing to do. Whether you want to make a morning routine, a routine at work, a bedtime routine, a workout/eating routine, or a cleaning routine: write down the list you created in your mind of what you want to accomplish. Both big and small, write it all down. I love my day-to-day planner I keep on my desk.
- Create Structure: Think about the schedule you are trying to create and the corresponding time of day. If it is accomplishing a certain task, think about the time of day that you are most efficient (morning person vs. night owl). Group the tasks you created in your list to a time of day that makes sense.
- Create a Timeline: Now, get specific with schedule and structure of the day. Think about how long each part of a tasks takes and write down a timeline. (For example: 5 am – wake up ; 5:15 – take a shower 5:30- have coffee). This timeline will probably change as you establish this routine, but it is good to have a goal!
- Test Out Your Routine Goal: Choose a day and get started. Test out the routine. Does the routine complete what you intended and does it leave you feeling good? Do you need to adjust the time or a specific task? Once you feel comfortable with the routine, put it into place for 30 days. This could just be long enough to form a habit that will leave you feeling relaxed and ready for each day.
Maybe rethink your routine or a new routine is exactly what you need right now.

What I’m watching & listening to
🎥 I watched The All American movie and if you love true story sports, you will love this one. This kind of movie just shows us what those who are told they can’t, end up showing those they can.
🎥 I just can’t contain myself right now. I saw the new trailer for Beetlejuice Beetlejuice and Alien: Romulus movies coming out later this year!! OMG!! I am such a fan of both the original movies. I love that Beetlejuice will have many of the original characters which makes it even better. Alien, I will have to wait and see how that one goes. The first Alien is still my favorite one with great actors and the most perfect “alien”.
🎥 And hang on to your drawers (that’s Southern for pants/underwear)😎! Because Bridgerton Season 3 will air on May 16th for 5 episodes and then on June 13th for 4 episodes. I have missed this series!!
🎥 I love rewatching series from back in the day and would love to hear what series y’all love to watch over and over.
Let me know your favorite show, music, or movie you have watched or listened to lately. I’m always looking for new viewing pleasures.
