I’ve been told I love to ramble on, so why not pass along some of my ramblings from this past month to all of you!
Welcome to My Life Abundant, a collection of ideas, tips, and inspiration. I love to share everything happening in my abundant life and the inspiration I have found from others around the World Wide Web.
In a world where criticism and being politically correct often overshadow praise where the simple act of giving compliments can bring joy to someone’s day. Compliments have the power to uplift spirits and spread positivity like wildfire. Yet, despite their potency, many underestimate their impact or shy away from offering them. It’s time to change that narrative.
- The Genuine Compliment – A genuine compliment is more than just a string of words; it’s a reflection of appreciation, acknowledgment, and respect. Whether it’s praising someone’s creativity, outfit, kindness, or simply their infectious smile, a well-timed compliment has the ability to brighten even the gloomiest of days.
- The Power of Compliments – Compliments aren’t just about making someone feel good; they can also serve as powerful tools for building relationships. Whether in professional or personal settings, a thoughtful compliment can boost morale, deepen bonds, and remind loved ones of their worth.
- The Meaningful Compliment – Be genuine. Insincerity can be detected a mile away and will only serve to undermine the gesture. Secondly, specificity is key. Rather than resorting to generic words, take the time to pinpoint exactly what you admire about the person and articulate it sincerely.
- Overcoming the Compliment Fear – Many of us struggle to do so for various reasons. Whatever the case may be, it’s essential to overcome these barriers and embrace the transformative power of compliments. Remember, a heartfelt compliment costs nothing but has the potential to enrich countless lives.
❤️❤️ So, let’s make a conscious effort to sprinkle kindness like confetti and spread joy through the simple yet simple act of giving compliments. After all, in a world where you can be anything, why not be someone who brightens others’ days with a kind word. ❤️❤️

If you ever find yourself wondering why you continue to do something you don’t seem to enjoy anymore, ask yourself why you began in the first place. You’ll either find the reasons to continue or the reasons to stop. – Laticia Rae
What I’m watching & listening to
🎥 Looking for a good feel-good movie? The Boys in the Boat is now on Amazon Prime and is a true story about the 1936 University of Washington rowing team that competed for gold at the Summer Olympics in Berlin. Worth the watch.
🎥 I watched the best inspirational movie in a very long time the other day called The Hill. Based on a true story of a young boy’s journey with a crippling disease to play professional baseball. Grab a hankie!
🎥 Anyone watching the Feud: Capote vs. The Swans series? Interesting to see how the other half lives and I love all the vintage fashion! Capote is a very interesting character and if you want to dig deeper, read up on his childhood friend Harper Lee, the author of To Kill a Mockingbird, and their relationship.
🎥 Have you seen this yet? I just watched some fashion videos and I’m still shaking badly. Super high shoulder pads are back. If you lived through it the first time, I think you would understand my pain right now.
🎧 If you are a Journey fan, did you hear about the Greatest Hits Released on 2LP 180-gram 12″ Vinyl yet? I’ve had the CD for more years than I want to mention, but the idea it’s on vinyl now!! I love it and I love that vinyl is coming back.
Let me know your favorite show, music, or movie you have watched or listened to lately. I’m always looking for new viewing pleasures.

I am loving this post and such beautiful words! Complimenting is a good thing and we need more of that in the world we are living in today. We need more niceness.
I love the idea of sprinkling kindness. Sometimes I just go in my texts and send positive messages to all my friends. In a tough world, it is nice to spread positivity.
Indeed, we should strive our best to spread kindness at all times.
It’s amazing how a simple gesture of kindness can brighten someone’s day and strengthen relationships.
I love a good compliment, with the world that we live in it is something that is hard for some people to do. I love reading your post. It makes me feel so inspired.
I am obsessed with “Feud: Capote vs. The Swans” TV series. The cast is SO good! The storyline is so compelling and I find my self looking up things on the internet to see if it truly happened that way or was exaggerated.
I can’t believe shoulder pads are back. That’s a trend I won’t be following.
Some people always give wonderful compliments that also are heartfelt (and I am glad I know a few). I am trying to learn to do better on this front… And I will add The Boys in the Boat/The hill to my watchlist now (with hankies ready)
It feels good to get a compliment and to give them. I am loving this post so much and it never hurts to be kind to people.
I agree that compliments have to be genuine. I make sure to build my students up with them, but only every now and then, and only when I’m 100% sincere.
Love the list of what you’re loving! Your “ramblings” made me smile! Thank you for sharing it with us!
Your tips for giving genuine, specific praise are so helpful – it’s easy to rely on generic phrases but you’re right that being thoughtful and sincere makes all the difference.
