Just Some Ramblings & More!

I’ve been told I love to ramble on, so why not pass along some of my ramblings from this past month to all of you!

Welcome to My Life Abundant, a collection of ideas, tips, and inspiration. I love to share everything happening in my abundant life and the inspiration I have found from others around the World Wide Web.

Whether you consider yourself an expert or novice in the world of antiques, there’s always something new to learn with these expert tips for antiquing.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!!

I hope everyone is ready for the holidays! All the gifts under the tree? Is your menu or what you plan to bring decided? I do miss all of this when our family was larger. My mom would make all the appetizers for our Christmas meal since we had a large breakfast that day. I really miss watching her cook.

Since it’s just Mr. G and I, we will enjoy a quiet day and a simple meal.

Even though we both are low carb, it doesn’t mean you can’t enjoy a nice meal. I will get out my Christmas china, set a nice table, and fix a small ham with a couple of veggies. The green bean recipe below is a favorite. We will cheat with something sweat!! We love the Bryers Low Carb ice cream.

EASIEST AND BEST GREEN BEANS – Take 2 cans of green beans and pour one can in a large saucepan with the juice and pour in the other can without the juice. Add 2 tablespoons of butter and a good teaspoon of onion powder. Add salt and pepper to taste. Cook on a very low boil until all the liquid is gone, stirring often.

🍾FUN AND INTERESTING NEW YEARS FACTS: The earliest known New Year’s celebration was in Mesopotamia around 2000 BCE. The year began on different days for different cultures, including the autumn equinox for the Egyptians and Phoenicians, the vernal equinox for the ancient Persians, and the winter solstice for the early Greeks.🍾

What I’m watching, reading & listening to

🎥 Are you ready for the new season of Virgin River? Do you love it as much as I do? It actually starts today. I can’t wait!

🎥 We recently watched the series called 11.22.63. It’s based on a Stephen King book by the same name, but it’s definitely a binge-watcher. It’s showing on the Tubi app which is free if you stream.

🎥 Since I am a Boomer, I love watching all the movies with actors I grew up with. The latest one is called The Man Inside. Really cute and a look into a retirement community and it seems there will be more in the future.

🎥 We watched Carry On on Netflix and what a movie!! If you love thrillers, it’s a must-watch with a Christmas theme.

Let me know your favorite show, music, or movie you have watched or listened to lately. I’m always looking for new viewing pleasures.
