I’ve been told I love to ramble on, so why not pass along some of my ramblings from this past month to all of you!
As we bid farewell to the year gone by, it’s time to welcome the dawn of a new chapter with open arms and hopeful hearts. The clock has struck midnight, marking the beginning of a brand-new year filled with opportunities, challenges, and the promise of growth. Let’s explore the significance of the New Year and how we can embrace it with positivity, resilience, and a sense of adventure.
- Reflect on the Past: Take a moment to look back at the year that was. Celebrate your achievements, no matter how small, and acknowledge the lessons learned from the challenges you faced. Reflection is a powerful tool for personal growth and development.
- Set Intentions, Not Just Resolutions: Instead of focusing solely on resolutions, consider setting positive intentions for the year ahead. What do you want to bring into your life? Whether it’s a new skill, a healthier lifestyle, or stronger relationships, setting intentions can guide your actions and mindset.
- Cultivate Gratitude: Express gratitude for the experiences, relationships, and opportunities that enriched your life in the past year. Gratitude has the power to shift your perspective and foster a positive mindset as you enter the New Year.
- Embrace Change and Adaptability: Change is inevitable, and the New Year often brings unexpected twists and turns. Embrace the spirit of adaptability, and be open to new possibilities. Sometimes, the most remarkable opportunities arise from unexpected changes.
- Celebrate Small Victories: As you embark on the journey of the New Year, celebrate the small victories along the way. Every step forward, no matter how small, is a triumph worth acknowledging. Recognizing these moments can fuel your motivation and keep you on track.
- Connect with Others: Strengthen your social connections and nurture your relationships. Share your aspirations for the New Year with friends and family, and encourage one another to pursue your goals. A supportive community can make the journey more enjoyable and rewarding.
- Practice Self-Care: Prioritize your well-being by incorporating self-care practices into your daily routine. Whether it’s mindfulness, exercise, or simply taking time for hobbies you enjoy, self-care is essential for maintaining a healthy balance in your life.

This is what I expect from coming to read a blog post … lots of great ramblings that I can relate to. A wonderful reflective post and I too loved Knives Out!
Thank you. I love those types of posts too.
I love your list. Self care is a must!
And I loved The Crown too. I’ll have to check out the video you mentioned. It was truly a wonderful show.
I am so with you on celebrating the small victories. This was good reading.
Love this post. Lots to look back on. Definitely need to watch those shows myself too.
I love the idea of setting intentions instead of resolutions. I always have so much I want to work on when the new year comes around and then they fizzle out. Thanks for sharing this 🙂 I really enjoyed your “rambles”.
Exactly!! Resolutions are broke so easily and thank you for your lovely comment.
I’m working on self-care this year too. I’ve found that the older I get, the harder it is to juggle all of the balls and be there for everyone I love. So important to carve out time for rest and rejuvenation!
You are so right! You have to take care of yourself first or you won’t be able to take care of others when needed.
I think the new year guideline is a great list to apply to fresh beginnings! Actually, they’re really good to just try and live by no matter where you find yourself in life, I feel like it would be an emotionally healthier way to live.
I’ve been paying more attention to celebrating Small Victories! Appreciating even the little things really does change your mindset for the best!!
Your emphasis on setting intentions rather than just resolutions resonates with me. It’s a refreshing approach that feels more holistic and less daunting. I’m excited to think about what I want to bring into my life this year and to start taking steps toward those goals!
I agree on number two to set intentions and not resolution. That is what I’m doing this 2024.
I enjoyed reading the list and I totally agree on every thing you said. Self-care is 100% for me.
