The only decor I used in my master bedroom was to add a Christmas pillow on the bed and I was done! I thought that’s all I needed.

But, when Countrydoor.com contacted me about a few country farmhouse items to use in my bedroom, I was so excited!! I was finally going to have a holiday bedroom that looked like Christmas.

First, let me talk about this oversized king-size quilt. The colors are just perfect for the holidays. I’m very traditional when it comes to Christmas decor, so when I saw this quilt, I knew it would be perfect for my room. The vermicelli quilting and fabric-bound edges really makes this Portland Plaid quilt beautiful. It reverses to solid red and is made with a cotton front and polyester reverse with polyester fill. The quilt comes in king/queen and full sizes with shams and is washable.

But wait!

There’s more to this holiday decor story.

I wanted to show you that there are two ways to use this quilt and style your bed. I had a solid quilt with shams and used the Portland quilt at the end of the bed. Doesn’t this version look cute! I kept the white quilted pillow shams from the first picture and just added the quilted shams that went with the solid quilt. Love that layered look.

Now for those pillows!

They are just adorable. The pom tree pillow, the joy tassel pillow, and the jingle bell ornament pillow really adds the finishing touches to the bed.

But, as I stood there looking at this holiday explosion in my bedroom with joy and how happy it made me. I realized something was missing.

And then I remembered what I found at my mom’s house after she had passed away this past summer.

The pillow on the bed was in her Christmas items that she had cross-stitched and sewn the pillow herself. To honor her, I decided, that was the right pillow for the bed. There will be a lot of my mom’s Christmas throughout my house now.

I also added a cute little pillow with the fire engine she had for Mr. G since he was a retired fireman. It matched perfectly with all the other pillows.
