Blog Prompt: Today is Take Your Pants for a Walk Day. Go for a walk (or pretend you have gone for a walk) and tell about your walk. What did you see? What was the weather like? What smells surrounded you? What did you hear?
My walk starts off the same everytime I go and I always take the dog with me. I use a Hands Free dog leash that connects to my waist, so my hands are free and we can walk pretty fast for a good work out. Of course, I have to stop and let him do his business on the way.
Our walks are always peaceful, maybe the sound of Pickle Ball in the back ground as we pass the tennis courts. The weather is a bit muggy this time of the year, even at 7 am in the morning. We pass beautiful landscaped homes and I love looking at all the flowers in the area. The only thing I can smell most of the time, as we pass some homes, is the smell of the dryer running and the wonderful smell of fresh laundry. We pass a few golf carts on their way to the Community Center, the golf course or just cruising the area. A wave here and there or a quick “Good Morning” to all that we pass.
Then I notice one of the neighborhood dogs with its owner coming in view and walking our way. Of course, my dog, still isn’t as good as I like when he is around other dogs. But, I have found a solution to him acting up. When a dog walks close by, I have a very small treat in my hand and he always wants that treat. So, we can calmly walk by the other dog and his owner. Treats always trump anything when it comes to my dog.
We will walk about 3 miles and by time we get home, poor Ernest’s tounge is dragging the ground and he is ready to get in the cool house. So am I!! It will be time for his breakfast and time for me to cool down, sit with my hubby and have a cup of coffee.
But, if you want to see something that will make you sweat and wonder how they did that, watch this video. It’s amazing, especially after the 1st 60 seconds!! Be sure to watch the whole thing!!
