Blog Prompt: On this day in 1959, the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art opened in New York City. Describe a time that you have been to a museum.
My favorite museum so far is The Museum of Science and Industry in Chicago. My son was about 5 when we went and there was tons of “hands on” things he could do. There was also a huge display of the heart and I was able to show him what had happened to his Papaw when he had his heart attack. That was a special day.
Back in the 70’s while I was in Girl Scouts, we took a trip to Washington D.C. and I just loved the Smithsonian. We only had a few hours there and all I wanted to see what the Hope Diamond. What girl doesn’t want to dream about a 67 carat diamond. We get there and I was disappointed. It was blue and just not what I was thinking it would be. I was also not interested in the history of this wonderful gem. Now I am and I hope some day I can go back to the museum to spend so much more time there and enjoy.
Everyone have a gem of a day,
I’m just a country girl loving my geeky life with my wonderful husband, always taking pictures, getting my hands dirty in the garden, being crafty, exploring with travels and enjoying all this on a budget. But above all, living my faith as a child of God!
