Blog Prompt – What is in your car trunk or the back of your family van?
I have a Honda CRV and the back of it is just jammed packed with items and supplies we use in our painting business. I hate it too. There is no where to put groceries easily or anything else. Anytime we go any where, all that stuff squeaks, rattles and makes more noise then I prefer to listen to.
That is usually where the dog goes when he goes with us, so now he is in the back seat. Which is a headache also. Since he is so close to us, he is constantly poking us or bugging us. In the back he usually just lays down and sleeps. He wears a seat belt, but he still finds a way to sniff us or put his paw on our seat.
Oh and the dog seat belt is a great idea. I didn’t think about a dog riding in the back seat until the day I had to slam on my breaks and before I knew it, a 60 pound dog was in the front seat with me. The seat belt connects to a harness the dog wears and then tethers to the seat belt clip in the car. He doesn’t mind it at all and it protects him and the driver at the same time.
When I had my Maxima and lived in Missouri, I kept earthquake supplies in there all the time. We lived in a bad earthquake zone and I wanted to be prepared if I had to live on the road for awhile. I had to drive to work on back farm roads, so I would be alone and out in the middle of no where if I survived an earthquake.
I kept a jug, water purifying pills, blanket, flashlight, extra clothes, first aide kit and one of those survival foil blankets you see. It didn’t take up much room in my trunk and I felt safer knowing I had a few supplies to help me get some where for help.
I would love to hear what you keep in your trunk.
Have a great day,
I’m just a country girl loving my geeky life with my wonderful husband, always taking pictures, getting my hands dirty in the garden, being crafty, exploring with travels and enjoying all this on a budget. But above all, living my faith as a child of God!
