I have had 4 wonderful boxers in my life time. Duke, Barkley, Mia and now, our rescued boxer, Ernest. We actually call him Ernest T. Bass and if any of you know that role on Andy Griffith, you know where I am coming from. If he could throw a rock, he would.
Our Ernest is over 11 years old now and is starting to slow down. One thing we have done for him to keep him healthy all these years, is to make sure his shots are up to date and keep flea and tick protection on him at all times. Living in Florida, means that bugs are out almost all year round.
I was reading about a new product called Vectra 3D for fighting fleas, ticks and other biting insects.   It’s a great long lasting, broad spectrum parasite control for dogs and cats. This particular protection is put on the back of their neck. Easy application and is found at your local vets office. My dog can’t take internal flea and heartworm meds because of his sensitive stomach. This is another great way to treat your pet.
I don’t know if any of you have ever had a dog with fleas, but its hard to get rid of and it dangerous to all who get bit. They do carry disease.
