Blog Prompt: Today is National Face Your Fears Day. What are you most afraid of and why?
I have a couple of fears. One I have faced and the other, I’m still working on.
The one I faced was handling and shooting a gun properly. I had never fired a gun in my life until recently when I went to a class to learn the proper way to handle and rules and laws pertaining to a gun. The instructor was great and he took special time with me, since everyone else had fired a gun before.
I’m proud of myself for facing that fear and now if I need to use a gun or handle a gun again, I will know what to do and won’t shake with fear doing it.
My second fear is of falling. I don’t mind high places, but if I don’t have anything to hold onto, I’m in trouble. When we paint and I am working on a 12 foot ceiling, I hold on for dear life of my ladder and lean against the wall. I guess you can say I have faced it, but I’m still shaken easily when up high and nothing to hold on to. Maybe thats why I have always lived at sea level.
I’m just a country girl loving my geeky life with my wonderful husband, always taking pictures, getting my hands dirty in the garden, being crafty, exploring with travels and enjoying all this on a budget. But above all, living my faith as a child of God!
