Blog Prompt: Happy Birthday Elvis! Who is your favorite singer that is no longer living?
There is no other singer that is my favorite except for Elvis. He is the King of Rock and Roll forever!
Can you tell I am a fan? I grew up listening, dancing and singing to Elvis and I remember the moment I found out he died on the hot August day. I cried and I still morn his death.
Living just 3 hours from Memphis, just made it seem like he was part of the family. What a life he made for himself. A struggling, poor, southern boy with a voice that made women faint and men wish they were more like him. I just wish he had had a better influence of people around him and let his faith lead him more. His gospel music is some of my favorite to listen to. The way he sings Amazing Grace just over whelms me.
I never got to see him in person, but I did have tickets to see him in Memphis just two weeks after his death. I didn’t care how large he was. He was still Elvis and I loved his music. I have been to Graceland a couple of times and its well worth the trip for everyone. What a beautiful home and grounds to see.
I made a layout using a beautiful kit called Whispers in the Oriental Garden from the Artisian Guild
I also have a video clip of my favorite song by Elvis and a tribute to his life. An American Trilogy. Enjoy and Happy Birthday Elvis!!
I’m just a country girl loving my geeky life with my wonderful husband, always taking pictures, getting my hands dirty in the garden, being crafty, exploring with travels and enjoying all this on a budget. But above all, living my faith as a child of God!
