Blog prompt: Today is National Cherish an Antique Day. What is something you own that you think will someday be considered a valuable antique? Describe it.
Antiques are old collectible items. Well, living in a 55+ community means that everyone here is an “old” collectible item. hehehe
I do have a lot of wonderful china, crystal and silver pieces from my grandmothers and my husband’s mother. We will pass on Glenn’s mothers items to his 2 children.
I love my china and how it displays in my china cabinet. I don’t use it enough and I should do that more often. The picture to the left shows my pattern. My mother uses her’s all the time and I love that. She sure can set a pretty table.
I was looking at her china cabinet the other day and realized she has 5 different sets of china, which she is passing down to me. WHERE WILL I PUT IT ALL???  But I know I will find somewhere to display them for sure.
I will always cherish these items and whom ever takes them after my passing, I hope they also will cherish the history and where they came from. I feel that the younger generation isn’t really into receiving items from their past to keep and pass on.  Maybe its me, but I hate to see family history lost.
Have a great day,
I’m just a country girl loving my geeky life with my wonderful husband, always taking pictures, getting my hands dirty in the garden, being crafty, exploring with travels and enjoying all this on a budget. But above all, living my faith as a child of God!
