A Charlie Brown Christmas tradition
Guest post of the week by Moises Henderson
Our favorite animated Christmas special is ‘A Charlie Brown Christmas’. I can remember as a child watching it every year, and to my surprise, our children love it as much, if not more than I did.
We have a special needs child in our home and sometimes finding things that he can enjoy is harder than most. He must accept things in a way that is both fun and educational. To our delight last year, we put it on this show and he accepted it. This year we will be watching ‘A Charlie Brown Christmas’ on directtv satellite specials.
While we enjoy the show, he enjoys the dancing and reciting the words. We will watch both the special and him dancing around and giggling to something that has always been something my husband and I have enjoyed year after year.
The classics are always something you want to share with the younger generation. With so many choices now, it is easy to get lost in the selection during the Christmas season. We should not let the classics be forgotten during the Christmas season.
Our family cherishes this tradition and look forward to watching ‘A Charlie Brown Christmas‘ over and over this year, together. I can’t think of a better way to spend time with my children and other family members this year. Merry Christmas Charlie Brown.
I’m just a country girl loving my geeky life with my wonderful husband, always taking pictures, getting my hands dirty in the garden, being crafty, exploring with travels and enjoying all this on a budget. But above all, living my faith as a child of God!
